Fit Physical Therapy understands that an athlete of any age is prone to undergo a physical and emotional decline once they have to bid farewell to their career. At such a time, a lingering injury can taint the memories of your farewell for years to come.
This is why we have some of the best sports rehabilitation specialists in the US, who devise effective therapies that can greatly increase the chances of the player’s return to the game, or prolong their career. Our meticulous therapy also decreases the possible chances of facing a similar injury in the future.
Benefits of Sports Rehabilitation Therapy
Professional athletes are not meant to stay confined within the walls of a sports rehabilitation center. On the contrary, they are subjected to a highly controlled sports environment, along with assessment and risk management procedures in place.
Sports rehabilitation therapy focuses on many areas of athletic fitness, such as:
- Stamina and Endurance
- Trunk and Extremity Neuromuscular Strengthening and Education
- Recognition of Multi-Directional Rehabilitation Concepts
- Positioning and Balance
- Line Familiarization
- Spatial Relations
- Gradual Joint Fatigue to Test Joint Functionality and Stress
- Flexibility and Agility
Our exercise regimen is specifically designed to keep the muscular strain away from your body, and revitalize your body by using the same sport specific magnitude and pressures to baseline gamespeed.
Athletes have a strong muscle memory, which is built from years of repetitive actions and practice. This is why when they are placed into our sporting environment, their body knows the responses it has to generate.
We ensure that sports therapy is a gradual and carefully monitored and controlled process that is supervised by skilled therapists and sports coaches.
What We Offer
What We Offer In Our Sports Rehab Program
Protecting your Injury:
Once you have joined us for sports rehabilitation therapy, you need to put faith in our skills and experience. We do not put any unnecessary strain or pressure on the injury-affected part of your body, or the injury that is currently healing.
You may experience inflammation, swelling, or sharp pain in your injured area in the first two or three sessions, but that is only your body’s way of responding to the pain. Soon, it will start adapting to the applied physical stress.
Simultaneous and Complete Body Workout:
Not only do we have recovery of your injury in our sights, but we also have a keen interest in your fitness. Our therapeutic sessions push your limits by testing your trunk/core strength, movement rate, repetitive skill recognition, breath redemption, drills, and other sport-specific practices. This develops optimism and hope inside the athlete.
Your injury will recover at its own pace, which might seem very slow and tedious to you. However, we encourage you to stay calm and trust the process. Our sports rehabilitation therapy program will allow you to perform with confidence, as you did before. Our ultimate goal is to develop self-healing in your body.
Gradually Increasing Difficulty Level:
We start our programs at a moderate pace baseline, according to the level of injury and time, it will take to recover from it. Once we feel that a certain milestone has been reached in terms of improvement or healing, we start raising the difficulty level slowly. Soon, you will be performing exercises that pertain to your sport.
At some point, you may feel that you are ready to go to the next level, but we will take extensive care to ensure that you do not put any strain on your body. Your muscle memory may have improved, but your body may not be ready otherwise.
Decreasing the Chances for Further Injury:
As important as returning to the sport may be for you, our priority is that you keep playing the sport without facing any more injuries. For this purpose, we suggest you come to us for regular visits, so that we can evaluate your performance on the field.
Our post-recovery sessions will involve methods and strategies you should apply to stay clear of injuries, and what to do if you do face an injury.
